China/Thailand, 20th century. A large and intricately hand-embroidered panel from the Yao people. Features complex geometric design in dark red, green, and yellow. Most likely dates to the early to mid 20th century. The Yao are a large minority found in southern China, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. A primarily agricultural people, they are known for their handicrafts and ornate textiles. Professionally framed and in excellent vintage condition. Dimensions: 40.75” wide x 40.75” high x 1.5” deep.
