Pair of Adolf Loos Stools

Pair of Adolf Loos Stools

$1,900.00

Austria, ca. 1950s. An attractive pair of three-legged stools in the manner of architect Adolf Loos (1870-1933). Originally designed in 1915 for the Villa Duschnitz in Vienna, and referred to as “Theban” or “Egyptian” stools, these were inspired by traditional Ethiopian forms. Each features mahogany construction with a deep carved seat supported by splayed legs. Shockingly comfortable and perfect as occasional seating or fireside stools. Both in overall very good vintage condition with sturdy (and professionally done) old repairs.

Dimensions: 14.5” wide x 11.5” deep x 13.75” high.
