USA, ca. 19th century. An antique dome top poplar chest that most likely dates to the early 1800s. Later covered with wallpaper and lined with newspaper that shows a date of 1850. We were attracted the bright blue leaves, old hardware, and incredibly honest surface patina. If only this piece could tell us about its travels. Quite sturdy, this would be great for storage - or as an intriguing decorative object.
