USA, ca. 1940s. A rare example of local furniture production, this intriguing stool was designed by Paul Goldman for Plymodern. Based in Lawrence, Plymodern supplied the US military with aircraft components during World War II. After making major advancements in molded plywood technology, the company transitioned into furniture manufacturing under the name Plycraft, and became best-known for its line of attractive, bentwood chairs. Features streamlined, Moderne form with recent Indian cotton stripe upholstery. Recently refinished and in excellent vintage condition. Dimensions: 22” wide x 17” deep x 17” high.
