Nigeria, ca. 1990s. A hand carved wood stool from the Nupe people. Features oval form with six conical legs and richly incised top. As most Nupe are Muslim, their art tends tends to lean towards abstraction often with complex geometric decoration. Carved from one piece of wood, this stool would make a great accent piece or small occasional table. In very good vintage condition with warm surface patina.
