Zimbabwe, ca. 1950s or 1960s. A large carved sculpture most likely of Shona origins. Elegant and finely carved in rich green serpentine stone, we were drawn to its clean lines and impressive scale. While we have not been able to trace the artist, the work is consistent with first generation Shona carving of this era. Both strong and symbolic, the condition is excellent.
