Sweden, ca. 1939. A collection of five pairs of “Lily” or “Liljan” candlestick by artist Ivar Ålenius-Björk for Ystad-Metall. Originally designed for the Scandinavian Pavilion of the 1939 New York World’s Fair, each features a subtle Art Deco form executed in solid brass. Organic and graceful, these have become increasingly hard to find and are a favorite of ours. Perfect for any holiday table, mantel, or as a thoughtful gift. All in overall excellent condition with pleasing surface patina. Could be polished if so desired; however, we prefer them as is.
