Denmark, ca. 1970s. A large and incredibly well made dining table by Grete Jalk for Glostrup. Unlike many Scandinavian modern tables, which typically have veneer tops, this piece features a heavy rectangular example constructed of solid staved teak. Finished with a slight bullnose edge and supported by a sturdy apron with thoughtfully integrated removable legs, the design is both hearty and elegant. Comfortably seats 6 dining companions - but can easily accommodate 10 or 12 with the addition of two 19.25” self-storing leaves. Professionally refinished, the condition is excellent with a rich warm color to the wood.
Dimensions: 60.25” long x 41.25” wide x 29.25” high; measures 98.75” long when both leaves are in place.
