USA, ca. 1960s. An attractive studio made coffee or cocktail table with pleasing asymmetrical form. Features a trapezoidal top with subtle sculptural edge, tapering solid walnut legs, and thoughtful joinery detail. This type of wedged mortise and tenon construction is often seen in early American furniture - it was also adopted by modernist woodworkers such as Sam Maloof, whose pieces have a similar organic feel. Finely executed with versatile scale and unexpected shape. In overall excellent vintage condition, it presents beautifully.
