Italy, ca. 1930s. An impressive desk by Bianchi Gerolamo & Sons of Cantù. Features dramatic burled walnut construction with generous storage - including left and right side cabinets that each open to reveal four smaller drawers. Large central shelf beneath work surface was originally intended to keep plans at hand - yet out of the way. Clever integrated shelves provide the perfect spots for books, decorative objects, etc. Well made with a grand Art Deco presence, this piece is sure to become to focal point of any office or library. Lightly refurbished to preserve patina, the condition excellent.
