George Nelson Thin Edge Chest No. 1
$7,800.00
USA, ca. 1950s. A scarce chest or bureau from George Nelson’s Thin Edge Group for Herman Miller. Originally introduced as the Storagewall concept in 1945, the Thin Edge Group was formally introduced in 1958. Named for the distinctive edge that frames the front, the design has become synonymous with quality and exacting attention to detail. This example features walnut construction with five large drawers supported by tapered solid aluminum legs. Turned aluminum hourglass pulls enhance form. Drawers one and three retain their original removable dividers. Professionally refinished, the condition is mint.
