England, ca. late 19th century. A charming and perfectly rustic desk right out of a Cotswold cottage. Features sturdy pine construction with waxed top and ochre-painted sides. Five drawers, each finished with simple round knobs, offer generous storage in a relatively compact footprint. Interesting leg detail suggests the height was increased at one point; however, we rather like the clever way this modification was done. Finished on all sides, so can easily float in a room if so desired.
Pair with a modern or contemporary chair for a striking contrast. In overall excellent antique condition with pleasing wear.
