USA, ca. 1960s. Two custom open arm sofas designed for a modernist Lincoln residence by noted architect Ronald Gourley (1919-1999). Hand made by a local woodworker, each features a solid angular maple frame with tapered legs and interesting joinery details. Comfortable - yet with a versatile footprint - they have been beautifully upholstered in a rich yellow Maharam Beck with two-tone felted wool throw pillows in two shades of purple. Great for a living room or den, these can be configured in a variety of useful combinations. Condition is mint.
Dimensions: 72” long x 28” deep x 29.5” high; 17.5” seat height.
