Loetz Ausführung 237 Glass Vase
Loetz Ausführung 237 Glass Vase
$550.00
Czechoslovakia, ca. 1925. An attractive Art Nouveau Ausführung 237 vase by Loetz. Features jade green foundation with vibrant marbleized color overlay. Originating in Bohemia around 1850, Loetz produced colored glass with high levels of metallic iridescence - very similar to Louis Comfort Tiffany. Various designers from the Wiener Werkstätte worked for the company - including Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser. Peak production occurred around 1900; however, the outbreak of World War I, and subsequent expulsion of the German-speaking population from Czechoslovakia after WWII, lead to the company’s end. In excellent condition with etched mark to base.
Dimensions: 4” diameter x 7” high.
