USA, ca. 1960s. A group of four large ashtrays by David Gil for Bennington Potters. Each features rugged sculptural design finished in attractive satin white, tawny mustard, cinnamon brown, and original black glazes. While the Bennington catalog describes these as, “notched safety ashtrays, particularly good for offices,” we especially like to use them for incense - or the occasional indulgence of a bad habit. Especially handsome on a coffee table. Overall excellent vintage condition.
