Japan, ca. 1960s. An early and quite rare Model 32N Akari light sculpture by Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988). Features an enameled cast iron and steel base by Ozeki & Co., Ltd. of Gifu, Japan. As is often the case with older Noguchi floor lamps, the washi paper and bamboo shade is a replacement (in this case post 1980). Impressive and atmospheric, this model is currently out of production. A collectible design in excellent condition.
