Guillaume Azoulay Signed Etching
Guillaume Azoulay Signed Etching
France, ca. 1970s. An intriguing etching titled "Whisper" by Guillaume Azoulay (b. 1949). Features an intricately rendered scene of horses through precise and dynamic line work. Technically impressive with a strong sense of movement, this is an especially strong example of the artist's work. Signed, numbered, and professionally framed, the condition is excellent.
A self taught artist, Guillaume Azoulay was born in Casablanca, Morocco in 1949. Eventually relocating to Paris, he hitchhiked across Europe and the Middle East at the age of fourteen, which helped spark his interest in art. In 1967, he settled in Israel where he briefly pursued an acting career. Ultimately moving to California in 1976, he still lives there today. Azoulay's work is in the collection of the Louvre, as well as other prominent private collections. In fact, he was the youngest artist to be accepted into the Louvre's permanent archives.
