Brazil, ca. 1960s. A Roxinho safari or campaign chair by French-born designer Michel Arnoult. Features minimalist yet elegant wood frame with nicely distressed leather sling. Arnoult moved to Brazil in the early 1950s and quickly made a name for himself within the growing modern movement - working alongside the architect Oscar Niemeyer. Arnoult’s ready-to-assemble furniture demonstrated that one did not have to sacrifice quality of design for convenience. Condition is excellent.
