Juliet Kepes (1919-1999) was an accomplished British-American illustrator, painter and sculptor who resided in Cambridge for 53 years. Frequently expressing a deep appreciation for animals in her work, Kepes wrote 17 children’s books. In 1953, her Five Little Monkeys was selected for a Caldecott Medal. She also collaborated with her husband, Hungarian artist György Kepes, on murals for the Morse School and various other public spaces. Signed and dated.
