Joseph Demarais Intaglio Print
Joseph Demarais Intaglio Print
USA, ca. 1960s. A moody and carefully executed intaglio print by Joseph Demarais (1927-1971). While his career only lasted seven years, Demarais gained notoriety for his “intaglio-relief” method. Combining acetate, copper, masonite, and zinc to achieve fossil-like textures, his work reveals a certain complexity in both technique and subject matter.
