USA, ca. 1940s. A rare and intriguing example of local furniture production, this vanity was designed by Paul Goldman for Plymodern. Based in Lawrence, Plymodern supplied the US military with aircraft components during World War II. After making major advancements in molded plywood technology, the company transitioned into furniture manufacturing under the name Plycraft, and became best-known for its line of attractive, bentwood chairs. Features streamlined Moderne form with bullnose edges, recessed pulls, and sled base legs. Recently refinished and in excellent vintage condition. Would also make an attractive nightstand next to platform bed or serve as an interesting hall table with high mirror. Dimensions: 44” wide x 19” deep x 24” high. Item: 1000-8274.
