USA, ca. 1950s. A modern take on an 18th century wingback chair designed by Lawrence Peabody for Selig. Features iron frame with molded fiberglass body. An experiment in post-war materials and furniture production, the chair took over three years and $150,000 to create. This is a well-loved example with good patina to it. Would be quite at home on a porch or in a sunroom. Dimensions: 27” wide x 21” deep x 31” high - 16” seat height.
