USA, ca. 1980. A true classic of modern design - a Model 670/671 lounge chair and ottoman by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller. Originally designed in 1956, this is a fourth generation model, which was in production 1974 to 1991. Features seven-ply laminate wood frames with rosewood exterior and black leather upholstery supported by swivel bases. Charles Eames set out design a chair with the “warm, receptive look of a well-used first baseman’s mitt,” and this chair certainly lives up to that ambition. Comfortable, accommodating, and in excellent vintage condition with Herman Miller labels and original brochure. Item: 3432-1.
