France, ca. 1880. A large and finely made wardrobe or armoire in walnut and olive burl. Features bow-front form with large central, beveled mirror. Banded inlay, subtle carving, and brass hardware attest to quality. Doors open to reveal suspension rod beneath open storage shelf. Three interior drawers provide generous storage for linens, accessories, etc. Clever knock-down construction allows piece to be assembled in small spaces and transported easily. Wonderfully evocative and in overall excellent vintage condition. Dimensions: 68” wide x 20” deep x 86.5” high. Item: 2201-8.
