USA, ca. 1950s. A charming pair of brass trinket dishes designed by Norwegian-American sculptor Oskar Hansen (1892-1971) for Virginia Metalcrafters. Each features realistic form with pleasing warm patina. Perhaps best known for his winged figures on the Hoover Dam, Hansen’s life included service in WWI, archeological expeditions, alien theories, and even a quest to recreate the Holy Grail. Hansen sculpted each of his leaf designs in clay before molds were created for production. Wonderfully lifelike and in excellent vintage condition. Dimensions: 4” wide x 2.25” deep x .5” high.
