Japan, ca. 1960s. A large kappazuri or color stencil by Yoshitoshi Mori (1898-1992) depicting men carrying an ornate festival float. A prolific printmaker and textile dyer, Mori dedicated most of his life to stencil printing. He is known for his use of color and inspired depictions of Japanese folklore, craftsman and kabuki theater. A bold yet playful image in wonderful vintage condition. Signed, sealed in red, and nicely framed. Dimensions: 24” x 20” wide. Item: 1000-8545.
