Italy, ca. 2015. A contemporary pair of LC1 lounge chairs manufactured by Cassina. Originally designed in 1928 by Charlotte Perriand, Le Corbusier, and Pierre Jeanneret. Called basculant because of its pivoting back support, the chair was intended to ergonomically accommodate the human body, which it does beautifully. Both innovative and attractive, the design helped introduce tubular steel into the domestic setting. Each features sleek chrome frame with cowhide upholstery and black saddle leather arms. Condition is excellent. Dimensions: 22.75” wide x 25” deep x 25.5” high; 15” seat height.
