Audrey Hemenway Table
Audrey Hemenway Table
$325.00
USA, ca. 1970s. An unusual and intriguing small side table inset with painted tile by Audrey Hemenway. A New York sculptor and land artist, Hemenway was included in the pioneering 1971 show Twenty Six Contemporary Women Artists at the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art. Considered the first feminist exhibition in the United States, it offered an institutional response to the women’s movement and the lack of visibility of women artists in museums and galleries. Most likely assembled by a friend of the artist. In overall excellent vintage condition. Dimensions: 18” wide x 18” deep x 13.25” high.
