Finland, ca. 1950s. A subtle yet stunning A330 pendant light designed by Alvar Aalto for Valaisinpaja. A more complex version of the A330S or “Golden Bell,” which was originally designed in 1936 by Aalto for the Savoy Restaurant in Helsinki, this model features a space around the neck that creates a pleasing halo effect when illuminated. A layered and intriguing form executed in solid brass. In excellent vintage condition with warm surface patina. Dimensions: 7” diameter x 9” high (brass portion).
