USA, ca. 1960s. A fused glass dish by Maurice Heaton (1900-1990) depicting two flautists. Features pleasing shallow oval form with stylized brown and white decoration. Born in Switzerland, Heaton grew up with two generations of English glass artists. By 1930, he was experimented with flat and molded glass, and in 1947 he invented the process for firing and shaping his unique modernist designs. Heaton is considered a pioneer of the studio glass movement in America. Charming, signed, and in excellent vintage condition. Dimensions: 12.5” wide x 8.5” deep x .75” high.
