Germany, ca. 1928. An early modernist desk lamp by Christian Dell for Bünte & Remmler. From 1922 to 1925, Dell was a foreman of the metal workshop at the Bauhaus in Weimar and later opened a silver goods shop in Wiesbaden. Features lacquered and chrome-plated metal construction with wood shaft and weighted base. Referred to as the Goethe model, it can easily be adjusted and makes for a versatile work lamp. A scarce design with pleasing wear that testifies to its age and authenticity. 7.5” wide x 12.5” deep x 16” to 21” high.
