USA, ca. 1990s. A finely executed pair of sterling silver earrings by Cherokee jeweler and artist Patty Fawn. Each features stylized salmon motif set with abalone eyes. Originally from Oklahoma City, and adopted by the Kwakiutl Nation of British Columbia and Washington State, Fawn’s work shows influence from both artistic traditions. Her work has been exhibited at major museums around the country - including The Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian, The Field Museum, and The Brooklyn Museum. Condition is excellent.
