Early Dansk Pepper Mill & Shaker
Early Dansk Pepper Mill & Shaker
Denmark, ca. 1960s. An interesting pair of wood tabletop items acquired from the estate of a gentleman who worked directly with Jens Quistgaard (of DANSK fame) in Denmark. Includes a prototype salt and pepper shaker in rosewood and zebra wood. Quite rare, and found too costly to produce, the piece’s clever design has two cavities with a dispenser on each side. Also includes a finely turned wenge wood pepper mill with bras finial and steel mechanism. A scarce piece as well, this might be the first use of wenge wood in what would become the Rare Woods Series. Truly beautiful, sculptural, and functional additions to any kitchen or dining table. Both are in excellent condition and would make lovely housewarming or wedding gifts.
Dimensions:
Pepper Mill: 2.5” diameter x 10” high
