Czechoslovakia, ca. 1970s. A pair of model B9 bentwood chairs manufactured by Thonet for Stendig. Each features a birch frame with walnut finish and caned seat. Comfortable and quite versatile as either dining chairs or occasional chairs. Originally designed by Michael Thonet in the late 19th century, and widely used by Le Corbusier in the 1920s, the form has a quiet, timeless dignity. All in overall excellent vintage condition.
