USA, ca. 1960s. A fused glass dish by Maurice Heaton (1900-1990). Features pleasing asymmetrical teardrop form with copper and white starburst decoration. Born in Switzerland, Heaton grew up with two generations of English glass artists. By 1930, he was experimenting with flat and molded glass, and in 1947 he invented the process for firing and shaping his unique modernist designs. Heaton is considered a pioneer of the studio glass movement in America. Signed and in excellent condition.
