USA, ca. 1950s. A lovely and increasingly scarce ceramic table lamp by Jane & Gordon Martz for Marshall Studios of Veedersburg, Indiana. Features a bulbous gray stoneware body with pleasing hand-painted stripes of moss green, brown, and violet in a matte finish. Signed with original walnut finial. Shade shown not included; however, we have paired it with a white drum shade that looks quite nice.

A true family affair, Jane & Gordon Martz met at Alfred University, where they both studied ceramics. Jane’s parents owned and operated Marshall Studios, which her grandmother started in 1922. Together, the Jane and Gordon embraced modern and offered a dignified product line that perfectly complimented the style’s furniture.
