USA, ca. 1990s. A contemporary version of the classic RAR chair, which stands for Rocking Armchair, Rod base. Originally designed by Charles & Ray Eames in 1948, this contemporary example is from Herman Miller’s last fiberglass series. Conceived as prototype for MoMA’s International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design, the chairs has been in continuous production since 1950. Features punchy royal blue shell with black metal legs supported by maple runners. Condition is excellent.Dimensions: 25” wide x 27” deep x 27” high; 15.5” seat height.
