Frank Gehry Cross Check Chair

Frank Gehry Cross Check Chair

$3,200.00

USA, ca. 2002. A fabulous Cross Check chair originally designed by architect Frank Gehry for Knoll in 1990. Inspired by a simple bushel basket, Gehry devised a new style of bentwood furniture in which the entire piece was fabricated from the same lightweight slender wood strips. After three years of experimentation, the collection debuted in the Frank Gehry: New Furniture Prototypes show at The Museum of Modern Art in New York. Constructed of hard white maple veneer strips. Thermo-set assembly glue provides structural integrity without the need for metal hardware. Flexible back adds to overall comfort. All in overall excellent vintage condition with Knoll logo and facsimile Gehry signature to underside. Dimensions: 28.5” wide x 25” deep x 33.5” high - 18.25” seat height. Item: 3411-9.
