Italy, ca. 1970s. A sturdy and playful Mezzadro stool by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Zanotta. Features thick chromed steel frame with beech support and adjustable enameled red tractor style seat. Translating to “sharecropper” in Italian, and originally designed in 1957, the Mezzadro was inspired by the work of early 20th century artist Marcel Duchamp. A nice older example with great, age-appropriate wear to it. Dimensions: 19.5” wide x 19” deep x 19” high.
