USA, ca. 19th century. An antique Shaker style rocking chair most likely made in New England. Features maple construction with ladder back, turned finials, double rung stretchers and ash splint woven seat. Wide scrolled arms add a playful touch. Presented as found in old cherry red paint. We rather like the punch of color on its minimalist, refined form. Great for a nursery, porch, or just as a bit of sculpture. Professionally refurbished and in overall very good condition.
