USA, ca. 1960s. A large ceramic planter by Boston artist William Wyman (1922-1980). Features slab construction with sgraffito decoration and earthy speckled glaze. Wyman began his career as a professional potter in 1953 after attending Columbia University and Alfred University. In the 1962, he established Herring Run Pottery with fellow ceramicist Michael Cohen. Pleasing organic shape and great scale would make for a striking decorative object or vase. Signed and in excellent vintage condition. Dimensions: 12.5” wide x 10” deep x 13.5” high.
