Small Bedu Plank Masks

Small Bedu Plank Masks

$325.00

Ghana & Ivory Coast, ca. 2000. A trio of wood Bedu style masks from the Nafana people. Referencing a mythical wild animal, Bedu masks are usually one of the largest found on the African continent measuring over six feet tall. They are traditionally worn during the month long new year celebrations centered around the winter solstice. These smaller, contemporary examples are equally as appealing with their graphic decoration. Condition is excellent. Dimensions: 10.5” wide x 28” high (black and red) and 26” high (black) x 2.5” deep. Item: 1182-23. Priced listed is per mask.
