USA, ca. 1960s. An unusual abstract painting by New York City artist Murray Reich (1932-2012). Features acrylic on canvas with lively composition and bright hints of color amidst a largely white field. A life-long New Yorker, Reich attended City College and received his MFA in Painting from Boston University. As a young artist, he attended Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. He also studied at Hunter College with Robert Motherwell and Richard Lippold. Reich taught at Bard College for 25 years, and also taught at Boston University. He lived and worked in New York City, Provincetown, and Mt. Tremper in upstate New York. Signed, dated, and presented in a period frame. Condition is overall excellent. Dimensions: 30” wide x 30” high x 1.5” deep.
