Modified Noguchi Lamps

Modified Noguchi Lamps

$575.00

USA, ca. 1950s. An intriguing pair of table lamps customized by local architect Rem Huygens (1932-2008). Originally from Holland, Huygens worked with Marcel Breuer in New York City from 1956 to 1960. He later made his way to Boston where he completed public and private commissions. Each features a metal 2A Akari base designed by Isamu Noguchi with signature rattan-wrapped handle. Custom cylindrical linen shades were designed by Huygens - most likely for his home in Wayland, MA. In overall good vintage condition with appropriate signs of age and use. An unusual piece of architectural history. Dimensions: Item: Priced individually.
