USA, ca. 1950s. A particularly striking ceramic table lamp by ceramicist Nancy Wickham (1923-1987). Features conical body with subtle incised herringbone design in soft blue, gray, and brown glazes. An early studio potter, Wickham studied at Alfred University in the 1940s, worked with Design Technics, and established her own studio in Woodstock, Vermont in 1949. Unsigned, as is the case with a good portion of Wickham’s pieces but most certainly her work. Fitted with original brass hardware and vintage off-white linen shade. A real stunner.
