Finland, ca. 1960s. An increasingly scarce collection of Riisiposliini, or rice grain porcelain, designed by Friedl Holzer-Kjelberg for Arabia. Using a technique in which small holes are carved into raw porcelain, the applied glazing later melts over the holes creating a thin transparent surface. Beautiful, subtle, and almost ethereal in presence. Includes one set of eight coffee cups with saucers and one set of ten espresso cups and saucers - all in excellent vintage condition without chips or cracks. Dimensions: 5.25” diameter x 2.75” high (coffee) & 4.75” diameter x 2” high (espresso).
