USA, ca. 1950s. A handsome pair of high chests attributed to D.R. Bates and Jackson Gregory, Jr. for Vista of California. Each features walnut construction with maple secondary woods. Architectural enameled steel frame and minimalist, almost nautical handles enhance form. White laminate tops ensure durability and provide a pleasing contrast to dark wood finish. Rare to find a pair, these are sturdy, quite clean and in overall excellent vintage condition with a rich patina.
