USA, ca. 1960s. A set of four solid ash CB10 armchairs by Claud Bunyard, who was the in-house designer and manager of Design Research, Cambridge during the 1950s through early 1960s. Each features classic Windsor form with continuous bow-back, flat arm rests, and contoured seat supported by splayed legs. Durable and comfortable, these chairs can be found in various academic settings such as the Exeter Library and Yale Center for British Art. A modernist reinterpretation of a timeless form, this set is in overall very good vintage condition with pleasing patina. Dimensions: 21” wide x 20” deep x 33” high; 17” seat height.
