Canada, ca. 1980s. A large framed stonecut titled Hunger by Utkusiksalingmiut Inuk artist Simon Tookoome (1934-2010). A fisherman, builder, teacher, jeweler, and artist, Tookoome was dedicated to sharing and preserving traditional Inuit knowledge. His work often features bright colors and motifs inspired by his childhood living off the land. Wonderfully graphic and sensitively rendered. Signed, numbered, dated and in overall excellent condition. Dimensions: 41.5” wide x 31.5” high x .75” deep.
