France, ca. 1920s or 1930s. A hard-to-find set of six cafe or bistro chairs manufactured by GYF, which was located in Givry-Fourchambault in the Nièvre. Each features bentwood beech construction with pleasing interlocking back support and graphic striped seat. Very much in the style of Austrian manufacturer Thonet, the Art Nouveau design is both sturdy and quite comfortable. A classic and versatile form with a compact footprint ideal for small spaces. Professionally refurbished and in overall excellent condition with lovely patina. Dimensions: 14.75” wide x 14.5” deep x 34” high; 17.75” seat height
